Job Title: SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support) Location: SEMH School (ages 5-18) Contract: Temporary to Permanent, 12 working weeksStart Date: As soon as possible Daily Rate: £127 per day, temp to perm.Job Opportunity: Learning Support Assistant for SEMH and SEN Students Location: Between Billingshurst and HorshamWe are working closely with a beautiful and prestigious school set in 23 acres of rural grounds, complete with farm animals, catering to boys aged 5-18 years with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, along with other Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are seeking passionate and enthusiasticLearning Support Assistants for both primary and secondary roles, to join their supportive and nurturing team. Key Responsibilities:Support Students in Class: Assist teachers in delivering engaging, structured lessons and activities tailored to the unique needs of each student, helping them access the curriculum. One-to-One Support: Provide individualised support, addressing students' academic, social, and emotional needs, enabling them to thrive in the classroom. Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies to help students develop emotional regulation and social skills, offering a calm, consistent approach. Collaborative Working: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to develop tailored support plans for each student's specific needs. Encouraging Active Participation: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging students to participate in lessons and activities, promoting confidence and independence. Adaptability: Support students across various age groups (5-18), adjusting approaches to meet their developmental stage and needs. Candidate Qualities:Patience and Resilience: You'll need to stay calm and composed in challenging situations, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Energetic and Active: The role requires physical engagement with students, both inside and outside the classroom. Experience with SEMH and SEN: Ideally, candidates will have experience supporting children with SEMH or other additional needs in a school or care setting. Team Player: Ability to collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students. Driver Preferred: As the school is in a rural location, having your own transport would be ideal.
