Job Title: Head of Financial Reporting & Accounting Location: Liverpool Hourly Rate: £43.59 Per Hour Contract length: April 2025 Overview of Head of Financial Reporting & Accounting Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting. The role reports directly to the Divisional Finance Director.  Based in the North-West of England, the role will primarily focus on the integration of an acquisition into This role offers the chance to play a pivotal role in a fast growing and exciting, well-established organisation. As the Head of Financial Accounting and reporting you will: - Lead on the financial reporting and accounting integration of an acquisition into an ever growing national contractor in construction and property services sector. Play a significant role in managing and promoting a best-in-class financial control and reporting framework Lead key projects such as adoption of IFRS15 and IFRS16. Lead internal treasury management requirements. Supported by advisors, establish fair value of net assets acquired and prepare acquisition accounting entries and notes to the financial statements. Liaise with the acquisition’s incumbent auditors and Group auditors to execute a plan that enables statutory accounts sign off within Group audit timetable.  Take a leadership role in guiding the Financial Reporting function to achieve the audit timetable. Lead a gap analysis of accounting policies between the acquisition and within the Group.  Create a plan to harmonise policies, or document ongoing differences. Ensuring comprehensive accountability for monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and governing central risks and control over the acquisitions balance sheet. Managing technical and central accounting areas such as provisions, insurance, pensions, property, intercompany, VAT, CIS, Apprentice Levy Requirements for Head of Financial Reporting & Accounting Role: ACA/ACCA qualified with strong training acquired through working at preferably within a Big 4 audit firm. 5+ years PQE. Acquisition experience In addition to your training, you must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in industry, gained in the financial accounting function of a mid/large size organisation. Strong technical accounting skill set e.g., preparation of statutory and consolidated accounts under IFRS/UK GAAP. Leadership skills will be crucial in providing solutions for technical accounting scenarios for the commercial teams. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
