Children's Mentor

Do you have the skills needed to support a child with SEN or SEMH needs? Can you mentor them in the right direction and support their learning journey? If so, this role will be a rewarding and engaging opportunity. Sennen Education are now recruiting for children's mentor in Stockport. The ideal candidate will be nurturing and understanding, and have a good understanding of children with SEN or SEMH needs. The role will include 1:1 support of children and small groups, aiding them in accessing learning. Experience as a TA, Support Worker, or Learning Mentor is desirable, but any experience working with SEN children is welcome. You will be providing support in a mainstream setting to help a child engage with tasks set by the class teacher, and to improve their confidence in learning. Safeguarding children and young people is at the heart of what we do and we undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such, all post holders are subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process.
