Cloud/Infrastructure Architect

THE ROLE

As a Cloud/Infrastructure Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing our cloud and infrastructure strategies to support our business objectives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will design, deploy, and optimize robust cloud-based solutions and infrastructure that drive innovation, scalability, and efficiency across our global operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cloud Strategy Development: Lead the development of comprehensive cloud strategies aligned with business goals, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Architecture Design: Design and architect cloud-based solutions, encompassing infrastructure, platforms, and services, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies. Designs should be well documented and cater for multiple audiences.
• Infrastructure Planning and Deployment: Define and implement infrastructure components on public, private, or hybrid cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and cost optimization.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams, promoting best practices, standards, and methodologies in cloud and infrastructure architecture.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with stakeholders, including IT leadership, software developers, and operations teams, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
• Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures and compliance standards across cloud environments, ensuring data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, conduct performance analysis, identifying areas for optimization, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Vendor Management: Evaluate and select cloud service providers and technology vendors, managing vendor relationships and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.

REQUIREMENTS

• Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with relevant certifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure components, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Strong Cyber security experience, designing a Infrastructure that supports Cyber security standards up to ISO 27001.
• Infrastructure knowledge to support modern network technologies including SD-WAN, and Cyber security controls.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience (5 years) as a Cloud/Infrastructure Architect or similar role, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Fluent in English
