Area Commercial Manager

Job Purpose

As an Area Commercial Manager, you will support the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of telecoms projects, including new builds, city enhancements, government contracts, and field service frameworks. You will ensure that operations and service delivery comply with contract terms and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Resource Management: Manage the commercial resources of your assigned projects, from planned expenditure through to contract control.
• Project Variations: Support the authorization and submission of project variations.
• Risk Mitigation: Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Expertise Provision: Provide commercial and contractual expertise, including valuation certification, correspondence, claims, budget monitoring, and performance data.
• Cost and Value Data: Provide accurate cost and value data at both project and regional levels.
• Team Development: Coach, develop, and mentor junior team members.

Key Skills & Experience

• Commercial Management: Solid experience in senior commercial management and contractor procurement, with working knowledge of NEC3 ECC forms.
• Industry Background: Ideally, a background in telecoms, civil engineering, or utilities.
• Negotiation Skills: Effective negotiation with suppliers and partners, finding alternate solutions and resolving issues within contractual terms.
• Project Oversight: Experience overseeing large capital expenditure projects.
• Data Analysis: Ability to use data for financial reporting with actionable insights and strategic focus.
• Educational Qualification: HNC/HND level education, or equivalent.

Role Summary

• Role: Area Commercial Manager
• Location: Sussex, with occasional UK travel
• Salary: £63,000 - £68,000 + Car Allowance
