We are delighted to be partnered with our very established, successful and friendly client as they seek to recruit a Part Time Payroll Assistant to join their team at their offices in Lewes. My client has been trading very successfully within their sector for over 12 years. This role is a part time role 20-25 hours per week, flexibility on days worked can be given. Great opportunity to work for a very established business on a local level Payroll Assistant Part time permanent role. Office based. 20-25 hours per week - exact hours and days to be negotiated depending on candidate availability Role based in Lewes. Free parking on site currently available. Office based close to Lewes railway station Salary £13.00-£15.40 per hour depending on experience levels plus good company benefits. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and friendly team, working part time on a local level. Part Time Payroll Assistant Duties will include: Duties Include: Processing client payrolls accurately and efficiently Check accuracy of calculations before sending to client and HMRC Build a trusting relationship with clients Be able to calculate gross to net calculations manually Assist clients with any queries they have regarding their payroll via phone or email Download tax notifications from HMRC website and process RTI submissions to HMRC Import and export excel files into and out of payroll Creating payroll journals and ad-hoc reports Create a variety of pension auto-enrolment files for onward submission to pension providers Any other ad-hoc admin work include filing Experience, competencies and knowledge required: Must have good experience in a payroll assistant or payroll admin role A knowledge of using Star (Payroll Professional) payroll software useful but not essential Have good knowledge of excel for creating spreadsheets and importing data in and out of payroll software Must have a good understanding of statutory payments and deductions including maternity pay/statutory sick pay/paternity pay/student loans/attachments of earnings. Be flexible in working days and hours due to peaks and troughs of a monthly payroll cycle Have a good understanding of auto-enrolment pension law.
