Outage Planner

Our client, a prominent company in the Transmission and Distribution sector, is currently seeking an Outage Planner to join their permanent team. As a Distribution Outage Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering a workable annual outage programme by coordinating with multiple stakeholders and ensuring system security. This position involves rebuilding the network, delivering the construction programme, and maintaining security of supply by closely working with Control Engineers and regional Engineers. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, manage, and take ownership of the SSEN ED2 outage process Analyse the risk associated with specific outages and their interactions Engage regularly with internal teams for coordinated efforts Ensure network compliance with engineering standards and compliance with license obligations Promote the Distribution Network Access Policy, Distribution and Grid Code Conduct network contingency studies and provide reports to internal stakeholders Take ownership of the SSE HV outage process Job Requirements: HNC level or equivalent in Electrical Power Engineering or a similar subject Detailed knowledge of power distribution system operation and commercial awareness Experience with network modelling software like PSS®E, PSS®Sincal, and/or Power Factory is preferred Strong communication skills with the ability to produce structured written reports Excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation abilities to meet demanding targets and deadlines Passion for solving problems by developing cost-efficient solutions Ability to drive business strategies effectively Benefits: Competitive salary Opportunity for professional development and career growth Collaboration with a dynamic and experienced team Comprehensive employee benefits package Supportive work environment If you are an experienced Outage Planner looking for a role that offers both challenge and opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
