A major project on the South Coast is about to begin, Junction 9 on the M3. Currently, Winnall Junction experiences heavy congestion between the A34 and M3, leading to long delays. However, plans are in place to improve traffic flow in both directions between these key routes.
Kicking off this autumn, with a programme set to last at least three years, the contractor is recruiting engineers to establish site access and compounds, with full construction scheduled to begin in early 2025.
The main scope of works will include 2 new road bridges to widen the existing motorway, new roundabouts for local traffic removing the existing signalled junctions, extending the existing slips and a large underpass through the M3.
The contractor is renowned for their culture, excellence in delivery and development of people.
