Job Title: School Caretaker  Location: Stamford Hill, London  Start Date: October 2024  Rate of Pay: £110-£140 per day  Hours: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week First stage interviews – W/C 9th September About the Role: TeacherActive is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated School Caretaker to join a vibrant primary school in Stamford Hill, London. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Premises Management: Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds, including classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas. Security: Ensure the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking the buildings, monitoring access, and responding to any security concerns. Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. Coordinate with external contractors for larger projects. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks and risk assessments. Inventory Management: Manage the stock of cleaning supplies, tools, and maintenance equipment, ordering replacements as needed. Event Support: Assist with the setup and breakdown of school events, ensuring that the premises are ready for use. -Reporting: Report any issues or concerns related to the premises to the Headteacher or School Business Manager. Qualifications and Experience: Experience: Previous experience as a Caretaker or Premises Manager, ideally within a school setting, is essential. Skills: Strong DIY skills, with the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks. Health & Safety: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures. Communication: Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with school staff and external contractors. DBS: Must have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or be willing to apply for one prior to the start date.
