Apparel Design and Product Assistant


Our client, a global sportswear brandhouse, is seeking an Apparel Design and Product Assistant for a 1-year maternity cover at their Watford Head Office.


You will work with a renowned sportswear brand blending streetwear and fashion, with over 100 years of heritage.


This role offers valuable experience in both design and product development, contributing to high-quality, stylish apparel in a dynamic environment.

Please note: This is a full-time role based in a modern office in Watford, with no option for remote work.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting and supporting the Design Manager and Product Manager.
  • Researching colour & current relevant sports/fashion trends for the design team when required.
  • Measuring samples ready for fitting with Garment Tech & Product Manager.
  • Lab dip checking/approvals to suppliers.
  • Attend fittings & upload photos to workbooks.
  • Develop, update & maintain collection overviews/ tech packs & workbooks
  • Designing SMU collections to a given brief.
  • Helping the design team with tech packs for main Inline & SMU collections.
  • Keeping to deadlines, critical paths & calendar.
  • Must be proficient in design software (Illustrator) & Microsoft Excel.
  • Assist and support the team with day-to-day duties.


Requirements:

  • Enthusiastic about gaining a wider experience on both design & product development.
  • A natural ability to multi-task with strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Experience required: Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong detail orientation with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in design software (Adobe Illustrator).
  • Proficient in Excel and ability to deal with multiple data – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding communication and follow-up skills.
  • Eagerness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, driven by teamwork and collaborative innovation.
  • Self-starter and solution-oriented and able to manage own workload.
