Clinical Procurement OfficerAbout the Role:We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Clinical Procurement Officer to join our team, You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of clinical products and services. This position involves collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff to identify procurement needs, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contracts to support the delivery of outstanding patient care.Project Overview:As a Clinical Procurement Officer, you will support the NHSE Medicines Value and Access Directorate. This role is pivotal in enhancing clinical and patient outcomes while driving operational and financial efficiencies across primary and secondary care. You will work under the direction of the NHSE MVA Head of Strategic Category Management - Devices & Borderline Substances, ensuring that NHS procurement processes are efficient and effective.Role Scope:Full-time role with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours.12-month fixed-term contract.Hybrid working pattern (with monthly visits to the NHS London Waterloo office).Key Responsibilities:Baseline current service models in place and identify strengths and weaknesses.Identify viable alternative service models ensuring value for money and patient care.Build an evidence base to support changes to new operating models.Implement new operating models, including consultations or developing guidance for the NHS.Part IX Tariff Listing:Explore options for standardised pricing methodologies across primary and secondary care.Work with NHSE, DHSC, and NHS Supply Chain to implement preferred pricing options.Enable NHSE to publish recommendations on the best value products for nutrition, stoma, continence, and wound care.Contribute to the development of product classification structures and minimum specifications in collaboration with clinical experts.Education & Qualifications:Hold a degree or demonstrating equivalent experience in preferably in healthcare or a related discipline.Project Management Qualification, Such as PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent relevant experience.Clinical Procurement Experience: Extensive knowledge and expertise in clinical procurement.Strong Project Management Skills with a proven track record of delivering complex healthcare projects.Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management SkillsAbility to analyse and interpret data to inform decision-making.Familiarity with NHS Procurement Processes and Standards.What you'll gain:Enjoy a salary of £43,742 - £50,056, (7) which will be tailored to your level of experience.Access the latest and most advanced technologies, empowering you to stay at the forefront of your field.Here, your growth and creativity are encouraged at every turn.
