We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our clients London based team and support a wealth of exciting projects. Our client provides engineering design services from master-planning and concept phases, through to detailed design and construction phases with the potential to provide ongoing operational and maintenance advice for the life of a project. They offer a wide range of civil engineering services for buildings, infrastructure and master-planned projects.
They are experts in water-sensitive urban design, which assists urban developments to mitigate the risk of flooding and manage the future effects of climate change. Often, they are responsible for the coordination of all in-ground utilities as part of their civil engineering services scopes.
They pull design information from other utility consultants into their 3D and 4D modelling environments, to ensure that the phased installation and completion of utilities works, earthworks, pavements, drainage and landscaping is logical, deliverable, and will minimise time and cost outcomes for their clients.

The role
- Assist Director and Associate Director in establishing new business with new and existing clients.
- London marketing strategy in association with the Associate Director/ Director Business Development.
- Implement Health and Safety policies and procedures on projects and oversee team s compliance.
- Participate in Workplace Health and Safety committee if, and when, required
- Collection, preparation, and compilation of bids and fee proposals.
- Assist Associate Director in compilation of London Civil monthly results reports to include invoicing, fee forecasts
- Allocation of civil staff resources within London office to projects.
What you need to succeed
- BEng (Hons) or MEng (Hons) in Engineering
- Chartered Status with ICE or nearing completion
Minimum 5 years practical experience in preliminary design, design management, detail design, and documentation, including preparing specifications, of Civil Engineering projects including:
- Highways Geometric and Drainage design
- Flood risk assessments
- Surface water and foul sewer design
- Retention basins, attenuation tanks and other SuDS features for both design and implementation
- Negotiating with, preparing documentation for and correspondence with and making submissions to statutory undertakers, the Highways Agency, the Environment Agency, Local Lead Flood Authorities and other local authorities.
- Basement drainage systems including under slab drainage to building Regulations
- To have knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Sewers for Adoption, Standard details used by local authorities, Specification for Highway Works & SuDS Manual
