About the role: Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives, particularly those with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Challenging Behaviours to support our students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with challenging behaviours. Working across KS1 and KS2, you’ll be providing 1:1 support as well as working in small groups to ensure that all students can engage positively with their learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of highly committed support staff, where collaboration and communication are key. You’ll be working closely with teachers and the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to create an individualised approach that helps students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Application Requirements: • Experience working with children who have challenging behaviours, ideally in a primary school setting. • A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly related to emotional, social, and behavioural challenges. • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. • A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach to working with children. • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students. Key Responsibilities: • Provide dedicated support for students with challenging behaviours in KS1 and KS2. • Work closely with teachers to implement individualised learning plans for students. • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and activities that meet the needs of SEN students. • Foster positive relationships with pupils to promote self-esteem, confidence, and academic success. • Implement behavioural strategies to support student engagement and reduce disruptions to learning.
