Commercial Director London – Hybrid Offices throughout the UK The ideal candidate should possess a strong commercial acumen, with extensive experience handling mid-sized construction contracts and collaborating effectively with Contracting Partners and joint ventures to achieve project goals. As Commercial Director, they will be adept at rapidly scaling resources to support our client’s ambitious growth strategy, aiming to significantly increase revenue over the next three years. This role will centre around setting up contracts, managing partnerships, overseeing processes, identifying and mitigating risks, fostering relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. We are looking for a Commercial Director to collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Construction Director, and Head of Commercial. The Ideal Commercial Director: The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of contract mechanics, risk management, and the appropriate structuring of major projects to achieve optimal outcomes. We seek a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in commercial project management, who is self-driven and maintains a positive outlook. They will oversee assigned project teams, taking ownership of tasks and ensuring objectives are met. Key Responsibilities: * Set up projects commercially, ensuring alignment with both upstream and downstream requirements. * Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and adherence to required procedures. * Oversee and manage delivery contracts, ensuring they are implemented efficiently and on time. * Coordinate resources to support successful project delivery. * Monitor project progress and report on performance against established targets. * Identify and implement productivity and cost-saving measures in both commercial and construction areas. * Regularly update and report on costs incurred and forecasted costs across project stages. * Timely submission of variations and contract modifications to the client. * Maintain visibility of the project team’s performance and their contributions to the project's success. Commercial Director Requirements: * Extensive experience in commercial management, with a strong background in overseeing multi-disciplinary projects. * Currently operating at a senior level, with proven capability to enhance project value, reduce risks, and challenge stakeholders to achieve project goals. * Able to provide strategic commercial insights, advising management on risk management and addressing arising issues. * At least five years of experience in leading complex commercial project management, particularly within commercial or construction sectors. * Strong understanding of contractual terms, with the ability to lead client discussions on contract interpretation. * Knowledge of heat networks is not required, but familiarity with utilities provision is beneficial
