Ocean Freight Team Leader

Position: Ocean Freight Team Leader Location: Altrincham, Manchester Working Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30 Salary: up to £45,000 (DOE) + Generous holiday package We are recruiting for a client of ours who has been providing logistics and transport solutions for over 24 years! We are seeking an experienced and motivated Ocean Freight Team Leader to oversee their ocean freight operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in freight forwarding, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to drive operational excellence. This role will involve managing a team of three, customs procedures and regulations, imports and exports, all while delivering exceptional service. Your key responsibilities as an Ocean Freight Team Leader: Complete start-to-finish ocean freight operations; both Importing & Exporting! Lead, mentor and provide guidance to the team Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers Collaborate with the sales, customer relationship and digital marketing teams to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand our client base. Strengthen relationships with existing suppliers and develop customer base Stay up-to-date with relevant industry regulations and ensure compliance within the department. Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and opportunitiesRequirements: 5 years' experience of ocean freight operations Strong understanding of customs procedures and regulations Imports and Exports FCL & LCL experience Experience in managing a team, with excellent leadership and people management skills The ability to run internal audits Exceptional organisational and time management skills Proactive and results-oriented mind-set Benefits: 31 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)!!
