Head Team Leader (Nights) – Alvechurch, Birmingham - 40 hours per week - £12 per hour
Brookes HC Recruitment is working with a Care Home for the Elderly in Alvechurch who need a new member of staff for their night team:
The Role:
* Lead and manage the night care team, ensuring they are supported, motivated, and working effectively.
* Organize shift rotas and allocate tasks to ensure the smooth running of the night shift.
* Ensure that the care provided meets residents' individual needs as outlined in their care plans.
* Monitor and evaluate the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents throughout the night.
* Ensure the safety and security of residents and staff during night shifts by conducting regular checks and adhering to health and safety protocols.
* Ensure all equipment and the environment are safe and maintained in good working order.
* Maintain detailed and accurate records of care activities, medication administration, and any significant changes in residents' conditions during the night shift.
* Communicate effectively with other team leaders, management, and day staff to ensure continuity of care between shifts.
* Ensure that care standards are in line with CQC (Care Quality Commission) regulations and other relevant legislation.
* Keep updated on changes in best practices within the care sector and ensure the night team complies with the latest standards.
The Candidate:
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards), with an understanding of medication administration and care planning.
* Experience: Previous experience in a senior care role, preferably in a residential care or nursing home environment. Experience managing or supervising a team.
* Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure.
* Personal Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and committed to delivering person-centred care. High levels of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, safeguarding practices, and relevant health and safety regulations.
