Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our Client are a leading, national Main Contractor with a turnover of over £350million. Having won a number of new projects in Central London, they are now looking for 2 Senior Quantity Surveyors - one specialising in Hotels and the other in Healthcare. As a Senior Surveyor for them you will be responsible for overseeing aspects of commercial management including client managing, reporting upstream and downstream and managing all procurement / CVRS. ResponsibilitiesOversee cost estimates, budgets, and contracts for construction projectsPrepare and submit accurate financial reports, including cost forecasts and project progress reportsAnalyse project plans and specifications to determine resource needs and cost estimatesCollaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions and value engineering proposalsEvaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate contracts to ensure competitive pricing and quality workmanshipMonitor and control project costs throughout the construction process, including reviewing change orders and assessing their impact on the project budgetConduct regular site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with contract specificationsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and construction personnel. RequirementsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related fieldProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in a senior roleExtensive knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and project managementProficient in the use of industry-standard software such as MS Excel and project management toolsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environmentProfessional certifications such as RICS or MRICS are highly desirable
