Field Biologist / Technician - Pest Control

Job Title: Field Biologist / Technician - Pest Control Location: Remote/Field-Based (Preference for candidates in the Midlands or Home Counties) Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Field Biologist to join our team. This position involves inspecting and auditing various manufacturing, warehousing, and retail facilities in the UK and internationally. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of public health pest control and the biology of various pests. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct inspections and audits of facilities to ensure compliance with public health pest control standards. • Stay informed about legislation related to pest control and the storage and transportation of pesticides. • Assess and manage pest populations, including rodents (rats and mice) and other vertebrate pests (birds, rabbits, foxes, squirrels, moles, and feral cats). • Monitor and control public health insect pests such as cockroaches, ants, wasps, flies, biting insects, and stored product insects. • Utilize and maintain pesticide application equipment and personal protective equipment. • Demonstrate knowledge of pesticide formulations and active ingredients. • Travel frequently within the UK and internationally as needed. • Collaborate with team members to develop effective pest management strategies. • Maintain exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with clients and stakeholders. • Adhere to various retailer standards and maintain strong planning and organizational skills. ________________________________________ Qualifications: Candidates must hold at least one of the following qualifications: • RSPH Level 2 Award or Certificate in Pest Management • BPCA Advanced Technician in Pest Management • Level 3 Food Safety • BPCA Certificated Field Biologist Benefits: * Salary: Up to £35,000 plus a £4,800 car allowance, based on qualifications and experience. * Employee Assistance Programme, Remote/Field-Based Role, Bonus Scheme, Pension Plan, Life Assurance, Fuel expenses * Holiday Entitlement: 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays. * Salary Reviews: Regular evaluations of salary.
