Information Technology Support Technician

Job Title : L3 Support - Software Engineer, Investment Platform Location: Central London Duration: 12 month initial contract Setup: Inside IR35 (umbrella setup) Hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 days onsite Key Requirements : Strong experience with Python, Java, C#, Unix shell scripting, and job scheduling tools like Autosys or similar technologies. Familiarity with Azure SQL and other database technologies, including NoSQL. Experience with messaging platforms, ideally Kafka. Hands-on experience with containerization, particularly Kubernetes. We are looking for a skilled software engineer to: Support, analyze, and develop digital products and services for both clients and internal teams. Apply a wide range of software engineering practices, from feature development to automated testing and deployment. Ensure the quality, security, and reliability of solutions by applying best practices and meeting both functional and non-functional requirements. Build observability into solutions, monitor production health, resolve incidents, and remediate the root causes of issues. Advocate for client needs, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to engineering culture and internal communities. Qualifications : Strong background in Python, Java, C#, Unix shell scripting, and job scheduling tools (e.g., Autosys). Experience with cloud technologies, preferably on Microsoft Azure (Kubernetes Service, Container Apps, App Service, Functions, Event Grid, and Service Bus). Proficiency in messaging platforms like Kafka and containerization (Kubernetes). Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture is a plus. Familiarity with Agile, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and DevOps practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Eagerness to learn, innovate, and unravel complex issues.
