Shift Engineer

White & Clayton are seeking a Maintenance Tech for one of our leading FMCG clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the below key duties and responsibilities:

4 on 4 off, 2 days / 2 nights

**NOTE: We will accept Engineers that have recently completed their Engineering apprenticeship, giving them an opportunity for a large jump in salary as the annual pay remains the same across the department**

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on production machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation systems to minimize downtime
• Carry out scheduled inspections and maintenance of facilities and production lines
• Work closely with production teams to identify potential issues and recommend improvements
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures in all maintenance activities
• Collaborate with contractors and external service providers when needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in an FMCG or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems (PLC, HVAC, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in maintenance engineering (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds)
