This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic BD to join a top law firm based in Manchester.


Legal Business Development Manager - Manchester - Up to £42,000


This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly-regarded law firm, known for its expertise across Financial Markets and Insurance.


The firm is looking to recruit a confident, driven Business Development Manager to support its Manchester and Specialised Insurance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing business development initiatives that will directly influence the firm's growth trajectory.


The role is varied and diverse, with the expectation to manage a wide array of responsibilities, including supporting bids and tenders, developing BD collateral, and working closely with senior stakeholders across the firm's London and nation-wide, regional offices.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Implementing BD governance and processes to drive growth and measure success.
  • Leading BD projects to enhance firm outcomes.
  • Supporting responses to client panel reviews, RFIs, ITTs, and RFPs.
  • Managing BD plans, logs, and developing a bid library.
  • Coordinating BD meetings and targeting efforts.
  • Creating and delivering BD collateral, such as capability statements and proposals.
  • Liaising with external partners to boost publicity and referrals.


Key Requirements:


  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a business development role within a legal services environment, ideally within the insurance Market.
  • Proven experience in supporting bids and tenders with a strong understanding of the bid process.
  • Effective networking skills with the ability to establish and nurture relationships.
  • Self-sufficient, confident, and driven with the ability to manage and partner with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with experience in designing and delivering BD client-focused collateral.
