Fire Door Surveyor

A regional leader in the provision of passive fire protection services is looking for an experienced fire door surveyor to join their team on a contract basis. You will be working on a social housing projects, assessing existing door sets and writing reports/recommendations upon review. The works are based across South Wales and will predominantly be across Barry and Cardiff. The successful candidate will have: * Valid CSCS card * FDIS Diploma (desired) * At least two years working on fire door surveys * Experience with both visual inspections and intrusive surveys * A background in carpentry/joinery (desired) * Own tools and transport * Experience working in the social housing sector * Experience working with recording software such as Hilti, Bolster or Boris (desired) Roles and responsibilities * Carry out both intrusive and non-intrusive fire door surveys * Advise on recommendations and remedial actions based on findings * Take accurate measurements for new door sets to be ordered from the manufacturer * Installing and carrying out remedial works to new and existing fire doors * Document works on a step-by-step basis, ensuring evidence is taken accurately * Problem solving and being able to overcome unforeseen issues with the work * Liaise with customers and members of the general public * What's on offer? * Fire door surveys across South Wales area * Self employed works on a long term CIS basis with the potential to go direct with the client after a qualifying period * £240.00 per day based on 8 hrs worked * Mileage, parking, congestion charges all reimbursed weekly * Ongoing works with a quick start available These vacancies are potentially for an immediate start and are long term positions for the right candidates.
