Role Overview The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of cost estimation, ensuring our bids are accurate and competitive. This role involves working closely with various teams to evaluate project requirements, create detailed cost forecasts, and contribute to the strategic bidding process. Candidates must have substantial estimating experience within the civil sector and be prepared, with our support, to handle the measurement of multiple contracts, take-off, and build-up of rates, manage the procurement of subcontractors, and secure new work. You will work closely with senior managers and directors within the group, who will provide robust support to foster continued growth. Responsibilities * Lead the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates by analysing proposals and requirements. * Supervise the preparation of essential documentation to ensure bids are transparent and accurate. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather all relevant information for bid preparation. * Utilise historical data and perform risk analysis to optimise bid strategies. * Verify cost data from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure it aligns with project requirements. * Keep an extensive database of current and historical project costs to inform future estimates. * Offer guidance and training to junior estimators and support staff. * Engage in bid review meetings with clients and senior management * Liaise directly with clients regarding tenders. * Log all tenders received into the Tender Database. * Attending site tender meetings. * Chair tender review meetings. * Prepare and deliver tender presentations. * Develop tender programs. Skills, Qualifications & Experience * Clean driving license. * Multi-utilities experience,have a good understanding of Gas, Water, Electric, and Comms. * Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. * Exceptional communication and leadership abilities. * Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
