We are currently recruiting for a leading and prestigious Transport and Logistics company for their site located in Wimblington, due to their continued success, growth, and development they are seeking to employ a Warehouse Supervisor to start as soon as possible. This is an ongoing role potentially leading to permanent for the right candidate. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager. Shift will be: Sunday – Thursday nights (Sunday 18.00 – 02.00) – (Monday – Thursday 18.00 – 04.00) Hourly rate - £14.55 per hour. Main Purpose of the Role To be responsible for, to lead and supervise a team of direct reports in the warehouse on a day-to-day basis and establish yourself as a key player in the wider Operational Management team. To plan, delegate and monitor the workload across all warehouse functions within your area in order to meet the required operational service level across a range of customers in a safe and efficient manner. To exhibit strong leadership skills to drive forward positive changes in the company culture, team performance and operational processes. To be an advocate of the Knowles Health & Safety culture and ensure the compliance of processes are met at all times. Essential to the role: Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in a Warehouse environment Experience with using WMS systems Ability to multi‐task and work in a fast paced environment Be self-sufficient and able to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines Good time keeping, highly organised and be adaptable to change The ability to demonstrate prioritisation skills for resource and equipment against targets and time scales Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to adapt your approach as needed Solid understanding of relevant Health & Safety practices and the confidence to enforce these within your area Flexibility and willingness to work overtime when needed Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail Be competent to an intermediate level with Microsoft Excel and Word Desirable for the role: Licence for (and significant experience of) Counterbalance, Pivot, and PPT trucks & Scissor Lift (MEWP) Must hold a full UK driving licence and have own transportation to work. A proven track record in developing operational processes. 1 years’ experience in supervising a team in a similar environment Accountable KPI’s Customer service - Accuracy of goods on receipts and despatches Audits - Ensure high levels of accuracy of the stock holding within your area. Cost - Ensure safe storage and handling of goods to minimise claims. Ensure all staff are operating within current policies, practices, processes and legislation. Key Accountabilities Coordinate and lead the Warehouse team with daily tasks including (but not limited to); unloading and loading of vehicles, pick, pack and despatch of orders, pallet put-away and replen, rework, general housekeeping practices. Ensure targets are met to customer requirement within contractually agreed lead times. Communicate and work collaboratively with the Transport team regarding any issues or delays with deliveries or collections. Monitor and audit that all warehouse tasks are being followed safely, effectively and fully compliant to process by the team. Check outbound loads for accuracy and quality and address any issues with the relevant operatives as a result of any discrepancies or damages to stock or inferior pallets used. Ensure equipment such as pump trucks, pallet wrappers, safety knives and RF scanners are available for use and in good condition with any defects reported via the correct channel. Plan and oversee additional activities from customer requests and capture costs for charging purposes Communication Have excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, subordinates and managers. Be confident and approachable to all internal and external customers. Respond to all customer emails and phone calls in a helpful, positive and professional manner. Ensure all operational issues are escalated as required. Provide accurate end of shift updates to the Area Manager for handover purposes including what has been achieved and what is still outstanding. Team Utilise spare resource and equipment effectively by working together with other Supervisors . Support other departments with workload when volume dictates. Demonstrate the correct behaviours and lead by example in all areas of your work. Monitor team behaviours and escalate any concerns including lateness, absence, safety concerns, training needs, attitude. Praise and encourage good behaviour from the team. Support new starters into the business by offering guidance, training and a friendly face. Manage and support any short or long term absences from the team including monitoring, return to work interviews and follow up action as required. Manage any conduct and performance issues from the team with counselling, training or retraining, performance improvement plans and disciplinary action as required. Health & Safety Ensure all team members are compliant with site H&S standards including use of mobile phones on the shop floor, use of safety knives, manual handling procedures, site security procedures. Attend relevant training courses. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by monitoring general housekeeping standards and initiate any actions required with the team. Ensure all required compliance documentation is being completed by the team as required. Support the safety culture by completing near miss forms when a relevant observation is made
