The Ceded Reinsurance Associate is responsible for managing the company’s reinsurance relationships and the reinsurance agreements. This position involves coordinating with brokers, reinsurers, and internal departments to ensure accurate contracts, reinsurance accounting, reporting, and claims handling. The associate will play a key role in preparing information to reinsurers and placing treaties to optimize the reinsurance strategy while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Assist in managing the reinsurance treaties placement following the company policy and procedures and manage the treaties life cycle, to include but not limited to: Prepare the submission information to markets; Support the negotiation and meeting with reinsurers/brokers to introduce Accelerant business model; Analyse quoted terms from markets; Review reinsurance contracts/endorsements and liaise with legal. Maintain accurate records of reinsurance contracts, endorsements, and correspondence. Prepare internal reports and papers for board/committee that includes the reinsurance terms and conditions. Assist in the preparation of reinsurance data for external audits, SOX controls and regulatory submissions. Partner with our intermediaries to manage treaty related tasks. The role will require close relations with our internal customers and colleagues in Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Legal and Claims. Attend regular meetings to explain reinsurance coverage and application to business. Ensure understanding of how placements interact with various lines of business ceding entities. Skills and Experience Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Reinsurance. Experience in Ceded Reinsurance is highly desirable. Proficiency in MS office skills (excel, word and PowerPoint). Understanding of reinsurance structures (e.g., proportional, non-proportional, facultative), and ceded reinsurance processes. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and within a virtual team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration both in person and virtual. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
