Your new company

You will be joining a client who is tasked with assessing the principal and general inspections of tunnels. Which includes gathering on-site reports, conducting tests, and assessing the overall performance, aging, and condition of the assets. The findings are used to guide investment planning. The process also helps detect any defects in the systems or assets.

Your new role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager who has some exposure to maintaining safe and innovative infrastructure. Your day to day will vary from handling project management tasks, to carrying out inspections of each asset and reporting on the outcome after each site visit using the PPM programme.

The successful Assistant Project Manager will be able to

  • Assist in creating project and maintenance plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  • Track project progress, report delays, and help maintain timelines.
  • Assist in delivering updates to clients, addressing concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Lead and guide staff in completing tasks, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and efficiency.
  • Oversee work quality, ensuring all outputs meet company standards and specifications.
  • Prepare reports for clients and senior management and introduce new processes within the team. Conduct weekly one-on-one staff meetings and appraisals.
  • Oversee programming and resource management for contracts across all operational areas and introduce new processes and conduct spot checks to ensure compliance with existing ones.
  • Conduct site surveys, assess material needs, and provide detailed project and maintenance quotes.

About you

As the Assistant Project Manager, you will have strong collaborative and experience managing the different day-to-day operations to a high and accurate account.

The ideal candidate will be able to tick the below

  • Strong experience in electrical / mechanical background.
  • Previous experience in managing a small team.
  • Familiarity with project RAMS and ensuring these are up to industry standard and checking existing RAMS are up to date for maintenance.
  • Support the finance team to ensure accounts are accurate and inline with project budgets.
  • Focused collaborator work with the operations manager to mitigate risks.
  • Organised to complete appraisals, arrange meetings and reports and to lead staff in carrying out tasks.
