Senior Staff Nurse Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: Central London Contract: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £45K-£55K + £3,000 per annum for PICU qualification + Excellent Benefits A leading healthcare provider in Central London is seeking a Senior Staff Nurse for their Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This modern 14-bed unit offers state-of-the-art care with 24/7 support from specialised Consultant Paediatric Intensivists. As a Senior Staff Nurse , youll take charge in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse, developing and implementing care plans for critically ill children in partnership with a multidisciplinary team. You'll act as a mentor to junior nurses while building strong relationships with patients and their families. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development through a variety of courses and support. Key Responsibilities: Lead the unit in the absence of senior staff. Provide holistic care for paediatric patients in intensive care. Mentor junior nurses and supervise students. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care. What Youll Bring: NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with paediatric life support. Postgraduate PICU experience and completion of a 60-credit PICU course. Understanding of safeguarding and clinical governance. Experience with audits, shift leading, and mentoring is desirable.
