BI Analyst / BI Report Analyst

THE ROLE The client runs a multi-asset portfolio investing across all asset classes. They are looking to hire a Reporting Analyst to support the investment team in their day-to-day work. THIS HIRE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF FIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLE WITH EXPERIENCE WORKING ACROSS ASSET CLASSES. Responsibilities: - Cash Flow Monitoring: o Coordination with the accounting team for the management of capital call and distribution information and input into the reporting system in a timely manner. o Produce reports on cash flows, calls and distributions, cash projections over 6/12 months based on announced upcoming deals. o Any queries regarding funds – e.g. why hasn’t this been received? When is the cash coming back? o Overseeing Liquidity opportunities – e.g. investigate trimming US$Xm from publics over the next three months, what are the options? o Monitoring of redemption window and notice periods. - Performance Reporting: o Weekly portfolio flash using all the timely data on privates and Bloomberg to estimate the performance of the public portfolio. o Preparation of regular performance reports at the portfolio, asset class and manager level for the investment team, advisory board and beneficiaries; this requires a full understanding of private and public fund performance and how these are calculated (e.g. gross vs net). o Updating of Bloomberg excel sheets with public portfolio holdings. - Performance/Asset Allocation Analysis: o Analysis of data, exposures etc. § E.g. “We are 60% US, 20% industrials”; “Manager A’s US performance was X”; “Our discretionary vs systematic performance was Y”. o Performance versus asset and manager level benchmarks. o Factor exposures both at the individual manager level and aggregate portfolio level. o Asset allocation alerts and triggers for movements/rebalancing over time. Tracking where the portfolio is versus an asset allocation policy target. o General ad hoc tasks to inform investment decision making. - Other Tasks: o Setting up new reporting system pages – essentially ‘owning’ the systems Systems used (ideal if already familiar with): - Bloomberg, Caissa, Venn by Two Sigma, Pitchbook.
