What we do.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Technologist to join our Technical team at Bakkavor Meals, Boston. The site employs over 700 people and specialises in making chilled Italian ready meals and modern deli products for a dedicated customer.
About the role.
Reporting into the Technical Services Manager, you'll provide technical expertise to our customers, suppliers and the wider business, advising of legal, safety and quality standards and providing specialist technical support to all functions.
Key Accountabilities:
Technical Systems Support:
  • Support the administrative aspect of the Technical Department for QMS and HACCP requirements
  • Support with generating Technical KPI Reports
  • Ensure effective trending on Non-Conformance, complaints, microbiological and nutritional surveillance to ensure effective root cause is completed and improvements made
  • Support with Pest Control coordination and visit compliance.
  • Helping to maintain the Allergen Risk Assessment by ensuring all relevant procedures are implemented and changes made to reflect the needs of the business.
  • This work includes data entry, trending, information requests, coordination of actions, change management procedure and communicating to relevant parties.

Other accountabilities:
  • Completion of traceability exercises throughout the site alongside other functions. Drive improvements in the traceability systems to always ensure full compliance.
  • Communication: ensure effective, professional and timely customer communication. Contribute to customer audits and visits.
  • Communicate relevant information into specific forums to ensure the site is audit ready at all times.
  • Audit: conduct audits as part of the internal QMS. To trend actions and non-conformances and to report into the relevant forums. Work with the Technical management team and communicate outstanding areas and additions to standards to ensure compliance with all current relevant standards, COP and legislation.
  • Specs: to work alongside the site Specification Technologist to generate and update finished product specs to meet customer requirements.
  • Work with the team to ensure all changes associated with launches delists and promo activities are implemented.
  • To support the team with export documentation compliance including to help manage the export vet officer visits.
  • To deputise and support others in the Technical team in all tasks as required and be flexible to cover different work, also be involved in projects.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
