Technical Sales Manager | Milton Park, Abingdon | £40,000pa - £50,000pa plus uncapped commission & benefits: MARS has partnered a pioneering specialist manufacturer based in Oxfordshire to support their recruitment of a Technical Sales Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Sales Manager to join a sales team who are operating globally, selling their capital equipment and sub-contract services to other manufacturers and academia. You will naturally be pro-active, with an inquisitive and questioning mind, who enjoys understanding how technology works. This role would suit an engineering or physics graduate with 3-5 years post university sales or business development experience. The role: The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for the sales and promotion of our clients’ systems and subcontract, predominantly in the UK, Europe, and Rest of world (excluding the US). There may be some national and international travel required although this will only be two or three times per quarter. You will be tasked with the development of specific target Market Sectors and Application Areas within the territory. You will be expected to meet sales and margin targets through effective sales management.The successful Technical Sales Manager will need the following experience & skills:Degree qualified, preferably in a science or engineering disciplineSales experience of technical products and services to industryExperience in progressing and generating leadsExperience of international sales territory managementExperience of selling capital equipment and subcontract services to Industry and AcademiaAn interest in technology, science or manufacturing Proven ability to sell technical services and develop repeat customers and Key Accounts.Ability to learn the technology of the company’s products and relate these to the customers’ requirementsCapability to qualify and analyse complex customer requirements and establish technically and commercially appropriate solutionsProven ability to establish and understand the detailed technical needs of customers relating to laser micromachining and competing technologiesOur client is offering exceptional working environment with the following benefits:Competitive salary based on experienceUncapped commission 25 days holidayGroup Personal PensionPrivate Medical Scheme (BUPA)Permanent health insurance and death-in-service benefit.Please note that this role will be onsite for the first 3 months whilst you will be going through extensive training.
