As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will join our team in Porstmouth to support our activities within the Space sector. Your main responsibilities will be: Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo).Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure the integrity and performance of payload components under various space conditions.Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of payload components with the overall spacecraft.Conduct and oversee environmental testing (vibration, thermal, vacuum, etc.) to validate design performance.Who are we looking for? Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the Aerospace or Space industry.Proficiency in CAD software with CATIA V6 / 3DX as mandatory. (SolidWorks, PTC Creo/Pro-E are desirable). Experience with environmental testing and qualification of space hardware.Strong understanding of materials science, structural analysis, and thermal management principles.You are... Passionate about engineering result-oriented proactiveQualificationsExperience, skills and qualifications required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.Ability to achieve Security Clearance.Security Clearance:Candidates must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years with no gaps of 3+ consecutive months to be eligible for security clearance.Additional InformationWhy join us?
