We have an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer based in Cumbria, working within the Nuclear Industry. Job Scope and Responsibilities: Evaluate, verify and certify quality in SSEP proposing and embedding improvements where necessary to ensure delivery is effective, minimises the cost of failure and meets customer and Sellafield specifications. To support the handover of project documentation to client. Assist in the delivery of projects Quality Assurance and Control Strategy. To plan, evaluate & verify quality, proposing and embedding improvements where necessary to ensure delivery is effective, minimises the cost and/or consequence of failure and meets customer/stakeholder requirements. Assist in the delivery of projects portfolio quality improvement plans in accordance with project or operational plant objectives. Assist in the delivery of an efficient Learning from Experience process at the project level. Deploying quality assurance and control activities to support right first-time delivery for their area. Support the implementation of the SSEP handover process. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Assist in the monitoring, analysis and reporting on the quality of delivery performance in a specified area through evaluation and assessment of relevant performance trend data, i.e. monthly quality dashboard production. Review and acceptance of relevant project supplier quality submissions. Assist in implementation of an agreed Quality and Life Time Record strategy for SSEP. Assist in development and agree quality plans for project activity, identifying the level and frequency of inspection required to monitor quality standards in line with customer and Sellafield specifications. Provision of technical advice to project functions. Assist in Identification and propose quality improvements, presenting recommendations to relevant stakeholders and committees and influencing line management to implement changes. Assist in the investigation of quality related concerns and events, and identify appropriate corrective/preventive action, escalating quality issues. This position is subject to the ability of the candidate to obtain as a minimum SC security clearance and obtain a Site Pass. Essential experience: Graduate in relevant discipline with work experience in in a similar role on project delivery or equivalent work experience. Project experience within Sellafield or in a project environment with similar complexity and risk. Relevant security clearance level to access and inspect areas of site within area of responsibility. Experience and ability to review and accept Lifetime Quality records on behalf of SL. Ability to work within project team. Essential qualifications: Relevant quality specific qualifications (e.g. CQI, Auditor)
