Events Manager Salary: £300 per Day Initial 3-month Contract Location Birmingham Hays is recruiting an experienced Events Manager to design, develop, and lead a programme of Council-run events. Key Responsibilities: Support events across the borough, including large, ticketed events, civic events (e.g., Remembrance Sunday parades), and community events (e.g., Christmas light switch-ons). Manage smaller community and commercial events, such as fairs and circuses. Oversee the provision and supervision of contractors, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to advertise upcoming events, including managing fees and charges. Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety aspects of event planning. Engage with Council Cabinet Members regarding civic events such as Remembrance Services and uniformed parades. Role Requirements: Full driving license and use of a vehicle. Experience liaising with multiple agencies and advisories, such as the Safety Advisory Group (SAG), Police, Fire, Ambulance, H&S, Armed Forces, etc. Experience with both small-scale and large-scale events (large-scale events experience is essential as many events across the borough are open to all Sandwell residents). Experience leading a Safety Advisory Group process and chairing meetings. Working Hours: Hours will vary based on the events taking place, with potential early morning starts and late evening finishes. Flexibility is required.
