Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the community? The London Borough of Hackney is seeking a dedicated Leasehold Income Officer to join our Leasehold Income Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the effective recovery of service charges and other invoiced sums, including major works, shared ownership, ground rent, and reserve funds.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the timely collection of owed sums and reduce arrears while maximising income for the Council. You’ll assess each case to determine the best course of action, whether that’s pursuing legal routes or facilitating settlements. Your goal will be to provide high-quality housing management services that meet the needs of our customers.
Key duties include liaising with legal services, solicitors, and financial institutions to resolve complex queries, preparing documentation for legal actions, and maintaining accurate records on electronic databases. You will also respond to income collection inquiries promptly, ensuring clear and sensitive communication with customers regarding their accounts.
We are looking for candidates who have experience in debt recovery within a housing environment, as well as a strong understanding of relevant legislation. Your contributions will help promote a culture of customer care and continuous improvement within Hackney Council.
