Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Hours: Part-time and full-time options available (8:30-15:30) Location: Mansfield, Nottingham Pay: £85-£95 per day Start Date: October Job Summary: Bookmark is excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join an exceptional SEN School in Mansfield, Nottingham. We are looking for candidates with prior experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly Autism, ADHD, and other learning or physical disabilities. If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young learners and have a strong understanding of SEN, this role could be perfect for you. The ideal candidate will be proactive, empathetic, and able to work well both one-on-one and in group settings, helping pupils achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Responsibilities: Provide both academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met. Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, resource distribution, and classroom management. Offer tailored, one-on-one, and group support to pupils, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other SEN conditions. Implement and follow individual behaviour and education plans, using positive reinforcement techniques to support progress and development. Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Requirements: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role, particularly with children who have SEN. A kind, compassionate, and hands-on approach, with a commitment to helping children overcome challenges and thrive. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students, staff, and parents. A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
