Our client is a fast growth streetwear brand in London. They are seeking a highly organised and self-motivated Financial Accountant to be the first in house finance hire and work closely with the external accountants. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial operations, reporting directly to the CCO and senior management. This is a hands-on role that requires strong accounting skills, financial planning expertise, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Operations : Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Budgeting & Forecasting : Develop and manage the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to improve financial performance. Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient working capital and plan for future financial needs. Liaison with External Parties : Serve as the primary contact with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions. Cost Control & Efficiency : Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across the finance function and the wider business. Inventory Management Support : Collaborate with operations to track and optimise inventory management for accurate financial reporting and cash flow forecasting. Payroll : Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Key Requirements: Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred. Those who are in the process of completing their qualification will also be considered. Experience in a similar role, ideally within the retail sector or a related industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to provide strategic financial leadership.
