Job Opportunity: Project Manager - Water
Location: Derby (initially based on a project in Nottinghamshire with hybrid working options)
Salary: Up to £70,000 + benefits package
An exciting opportunity for a skilled Project Manager to lead complex projects in the water sector. This role focuses on the full lifecycle of projects from design and construction to commissioning and completion, with a strong emphasis on health and safety, client satisfaction, and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Quality: Champion outstanding safety standards and quality across direct and subcontracted workforces.
Project Execution: Oversee projects from tender handover to completion, implementing the BMS at each stage and ensuring construction plans and method statements are prepared and approved before activity begins.
Client & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive client relationships and uphold the company's reputation with partners and suppliers.
Resource & Team Management: Ensure all project personnel are trained, aware of responsibilities, and available as needed.
Project Planning: Develop and approve Project Execution Plans (PEP), monitor progress, and control project delivery.
Commercial Oversight: Manage commercial aspects, ensuring accurate forecasts and estimates.
Contract Completion: Ensure thorough documentation at project close, including all records specified in the PEP.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current on industry changes through networking, conferences, and professional development.
About You:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Proven Project Management experience in multi-disciplinary design and construction, preferably within the water industry.
Degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering fields.
Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders.
Delivery-focused, able to set targets and motivate teams to meet time, cost, and quality objectives.
Knowledge of Construction Contracts, ideally NEC or IChemE, with experience in negotiation and administration.
Familiarity with CDM and construction Health & Safety.
Willingness to travel between office and site as needed.
Desirable Experience:
Previous experience with water and wastewater treatment plants.
Chartered status in an engineering, commercial, or construction field.
NEC Project Manager Accreditation.
