Job description We are seeking a versatile and experienced Studio Manager with strong skills in both video content production and audio engineering to manage the daily operations of our professional video studio. In addition to overseeing video production, the ideal candidate will also serve as the studio's in-house audio engineer, ensuring high-quality sound for all video content and podcasts. Experience in set design is a plus, as this role will also collaborate on creating visually compelling sets that align with our brand. The Studio Manager will be key to delivering great content for our social media platforms. Key Responsibilities: Studio Operations & Audio Engineering: Manage all day-to-day operations of the video production studio, ensuring a smooth workflow for video and audio production. Serve as the studio's lead audio engineer, responsible for recording, mixing, and mastering high-quality audio for video content (dialogue, music, sound effects, etc.) and podcasts. Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio equipment, including microphones, mixers, and audio recording software. Ensure all technical equipment (cameras, lighting, audio) is ready and functioning for each shoot, troubleshooting as needed. Implement and maintain studio safety protocols, and ensure the studio remains clean, organised, and ready for production. Content Production Oversight: Lead the entire production process from pre-production to post-production on studio content, ensuring both audio and visual components meet high standards. Collaborate with producers, directors, and creative teams to ensure video content aligns with the brand’s creative direction. Oversee the setup of visually appealing and functional sets, collaborating with set designers (where applicable) to create environments that enhance content. Manage scheduling of studio time and production resources, balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Team Leadership & Coordination: Supervise production staff in the studio, including camera operators, editors, and set designers, ensuring clear communication and coordination across editorial and commercial teams. Foster a collaborative and positive environment, encouraging innovation and teamwork within the studio. Equipment & Budget Management: Manage studio equipment inventory, ensuring regular maintenance and upgrading of video, audio, and lighting gear as needed. Oversee studio budget, handling purchases of new equipment, supplies, and set materials, while maintaining cost-efficiency. Content Publishing & Distribution: Work closely with the editorial team to ensure all content is properly formatted for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Stay up to date with trends in video, audio, and social media to ensure that the content produced remains competitive and cutting-edge. Analyse performance data on video content and recommend adjustments to production practices to enhance future outputs. Client and Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external clients, managing expectations and ensuring smooth studio sessions. Oversee external studio rentals, set arrangements, and manage logistics for visiting clients or partners. Requirements: Experience : 3-5 years of experience in studio management, with significant expertise in both video production and audio engineering. Technical Expertise : Proficiency in video equipment (cameras, lighting), audio engineering (microphones, mixers, Adobe Audition, Presonus Studio One but other DAW acceptable), and video editing (Adobe Premiere). Audio Engineering : Strong background in capturing and editing high-quality audio for video, including mixing, mastering, and sound design. Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead a diverse production team and handle multiple projects under tight deadlines. Knowledge of Social Media : Familiarity with video content best practices for platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Problem-solving : Adaptable, with excellent troubleshooting skills in both video and audio production environment. Preferred: Experience with set design, including managing or overseeing the creation of functional, aesthetic sets for video. Knowledge of video and audio content optimization techniques for social media platforms. Familiarity with creative project management tools (Trello, Asana, etc.).
