The Role:
We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join the Electro-Optical (EO) Seekers and Sensors Department, based in Bristol or Stevenage. This role involves working on advanced weapon programmes, providing expert design support in Electro-Optical technologies. You will help shape the future of our industry through R&D and contribute to the full lifecycle of cutting-edge systems-from specification and evaluation to delivery and support.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical development of products to meet demanding customer needs
- Collaborate with specialist design teams and external partners

What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience in systems engineering across the fulllifecycle, including:
- Requirements analysis, specifications, and justification
- System architecture design and modelling
- System trade studies for design decisions
- Technology maturation assessments and FMEA
- Interface definition development
- Systems proving, design assurance, and certification
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Electro-Optical systems technologies and physics
- Experience in defence/aerospace or high-integrity systems development
- Familiarity with model-based engineering techniques, such as SysML
- Experience using systems engineering tools (e.g., IBM DOORS Next, Rhapsody)
- Ability to manage engineering work packages and coordinate with teams and experts
- Experience working with external collaborators such as customers and suppliers
- Understanding of Defence, Military, or Aerospace standards and assurance processes
- Familiarity with AGILE teams and frameworks
- Knowledge of missile-related technologies (imaging, sensors, guidance, navigation, propulsion, etc.)
