Job Title: Book Keeper Location: Basildon Salary: £28k - £40k depending on experience / may consider hiring on a contract basis initially to help expedite the onboarding process, given the urgency of the role. They provide tailored solutions to support their clients' wealth growth and financial planning needs Overview Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance department. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. Responsibilities -Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and reconciling accounts. -Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. -Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports. -Prepare and pay staff expenses, including Amex reconciliation. -Set up bank payments and maintain the purchase ledger. -Monitor mailboxes for accounts payable and assist with regulatory returns. -Conduct bank reconciliations and provide support during audits and tax preparation. -Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in accounting regulations. -Act in accordance with Consumer Duty Rules and adhere to The Conduct Rules outlined by the FCA. -Complete any training and professional qualifications required for the role. Qualifications -Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting. -AAT Qualified to an appropriate level. -Ideally, 5 years of bookkeeping experience. -Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. -Proficiency in relevant accounting software such as Sage and Iris. -Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
