Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Northampton
Pay Range/details: £42,000-£47,000
Contract Type: Permanent
Omega is seeking a highly motivated Production Engineer, to join our client located in the Northampton area, who are a leader in the engineering, motorsport and automotive sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, including CNC programming and new part introduction, within a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities - Production Engineer
- Be involved in the development of CNC programs for advanced 4 & 5 axis machines and multi-axis turn-mills using various software packages.
- Develop precision CNC grinding programs for a variety of specialized grinding machines.
- Manage the timely and budget-conscious release of new products into production.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and test instructions for product builds.
- Accurately estimate production timelines and costs.
- Coordinate across departments to ensure seamless transitions from design to production, including rapid prototypes.
- Work with the supply chain to identify potential cost reduction opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements - Production Engineer
- Proven experience in machining complex components within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
- Hold a relevant engineering qualification (Degree or minimum HNC).
- Proficient in CAD/CAM systems (preferably NX12 or equivalent).
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of machining and inspection techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to root cause analysis.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with a willingness to adapt to changing project needs.
