Connectivity Engineer

Vivid Rock are proud to be partnering with a well established organisation who are a significant player in the global communications industry. Following years of success they are now diversifying their product range to include a cloud-based managed service offering that covers multiple connectivity solutions and provides greater opportunities for their customers. To deliver this initiative, they are looking to hire a Mobile Connectivity Engineer to help architect, build and integrate the multi bearer connectivity that their devices and applications require to connect to the cloud infrastructure. Some of the role responsibilities include: Develop and maintain mobile connectivity solutions for products and applications which will include APN Configuration, SIM provisioning & MNO/MVNO Integration Collaborate with other development engineers to ensure the seamless and scalable integration of connectivity into our products and applications; Monitor and optimise network connectivity performance to ensure high availability and reliability; Architect and implement custom connectivity solutions for large and/or complex customers and/or territories; Participate in all aspects of Agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment; Coordinate with other functions to deliver robust, well-crafted software solutions; Maintain a technical interface with MNOs, MVNOs and LEO/GEO satellite connectivity providers to stay up to date with industry trends and developments; and Continuously learn about new technologies and trends in the cellular connectivity space to improve solutions, including next generation (5G/6G) network architectures, NTN, evolving SIM and eSIM technologies. Key Skills & Experience: Experience as a Mobile Connectivity specialist or similar role; Proven track record of architecting, integrating and managing MNOs and/or MVNOs cellular connectivity into a multi-national cloud, IoT or similar service offering; In-depth understanding of APN setup and management; Hands-on experience with SIM card provisioning, activation, and management; Working knowledge of the backhaul technologies used to interconnect geographically separated system components (leased lines, VPNs, MPLS, etc); Working knowledge of cellular network infrastructure (HLR, HSS, PGW, GGSN, SGSN, Backbone, etc); Understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G networks Proficiency in using monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, NetFlow, or similar from both the network and mobile ends. Compensation: Competitive salary - plus benefits package. Hybrid: This is a Hybrid role where the post holder will be required to be on site a minimum of twice per month, ideally once per week.
