Senior Structural Engineer

Chartered Structural Engineer Location: Edinburgh We are working with a respected employee-owned engineering consultancy that is looking to expand its 35-member building structures team in Edinburgh by hiring a Chartered Structural Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary firm known for delivering innovative and sustainable designs across the UK and internationally for nearly 50 years. The Role: As part of a close-knit team of 11, you'll collaborate with a Director, Senior Associate, 3 experienced engineers, 2 graduates, and 3 technicians. You'll be responsible for running multiple projects, mentoring junior team members, and producing high-quality engineering designs. Current Projects: The Edinburgh team is currently engaged in a diverse range of projects, including: Residential and educational developments for Edinburgh Council Large Net-Zero project at Heriot-Watt University (construction phase) Royal High School redevelopment Links View and Cables Wind retrofit projects Several distillery developments Glenfinnan Viaduct projectAbout You: Chartered status with a recognised institution (essential) Proficiency in Tekla and Masterseries software Experience with FEA software such as SCIA A proven track record in successfully managing and delivering projects Strong mentorship skills, with experience guiding junior engineersWhat's on Offer: Competitive salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum 35-hour work week with flexible and hybrid working options 5% matched pension scheme Bi-annual company bonus Annual salary reviews Life assurance (3x salary) Income protection (50% of salary) 26 days annual leave + 7 fixed over the Christmas periodThis role is ideal for a motivated Chartered Structural Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career with a company that values creativity, sustainability, and work-life balance
