A world class, global manufacturing company are seeking a CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector with a good level of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming experience to join the Quality team at their modern manufacturing site in South Nottingham.
As a CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector, you will have a dual role whereby you will be performing quality checks to ensure parts and assemblies meet or exceed customer quality requirements as well as using your CMM experience to develop and run new CMM programs.
Components are generally being made throughout the day from early morning, so this role will be based on a permanent afternoon shift of 2pm – 10pm (8pm finish on a Friday) so they can be checked and ready for shipment.
The role is 70% programming and 30% inspection.

c£37k - £42k basic salary (dependant on experience) + 10% Shift Premium
Monday to Thurs 2pm – 10pm, Friday is 8pm finish

Key responsibilities of CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector:
Conduct 1st part, in process and final part inspections to ensure accuracy of manufacture and that traceability of documentation is complete
Conduct various quality tests to conformance to specifications using equipment such as calipers, thickness gauge micrometers, height gauge, hand gauges, manual CMM plus other equipment.
Maintain quality records as required by the Quality Management System.
Conduct incoming inspections as required by the Quality Management System
Use and develop CMM programs both on-line and off-line
Design and develop suitable fixtures
Review part drawings and consult with relevant departments using 3D models to construct CMM programs
Measure parts, hardware and moulds to determine dimensional accuracies and submit reports, also complete internal and external Certificate of Conformance where required.
Maintain CMM programs and CMM tool inventory to ensure they are accurate and accessible and to the latest drawing revisions
CMM Programmer / Quality Inspector skills required:
5+ years of previous inspection and CMM experience (Mitutoyo and MCOSMOS) preferred)
Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred.
Ideally aerospace sector experience
Experienced using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, OGP, Manual CMM etc
Experience of reading drawings
