As the Pastry Junior Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Pastry Chef in managing all aspects of the pastry department, including production, quality control, and inventory management. You will play a crucial role in crafting delicious desserts while ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Key responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and production of a wide range of desserts. Maintain inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring that the kitchen is stocked and organized. Ensure all pastries are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards. Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations. Supervise and train junior pastry staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment. Monitor and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines. Participate in quality control, ensuring that all products meet our standards before delivery.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a production kitchen or bakery. Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and a passion for creating high-quality desserts. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and a creative mindset. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
