RAN Technology and Architecture Expert
About the roleAs a RAN Technology and Architecture Expert, you will be meeting business demands and customer expectations, production of technical roadmap, vendor technical relationships and new technology trials and innovation. You will be responsible for setting out a radio capability roadmap to meet business requirements and provision of guidance for the implementation of technologies. Identify, evaluate and develop strategic positions for new radio technologies, access and produce actionable recommendations. You will work on defining the key requirements for the Radio RFI/RFPs, evaluating the responses of vendors in detail, identifying the gaps and strengths. You will need to understand and take account of the wider radio and business strategy requirements and, in your role, you will be encouraged to challenge and propose amendments to Radio's current plans and thinking. Shifts:
Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)
The must-haves:

  • Good understanding of Open RAN technology and ecosystem, and practical experience in this field.
  • The ability to understand the end customer needs relates back to a coherent technology strategy and decision process.
  • Very strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex technical ideas and concepts appropriately to audiences of varying technical background.
  • The ability to gather technical requirements for vendors, analyse feedback and identify gaps.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Key responsibilities
  • Lead defining radio capability strategy and evaluating RFP/RFI responses.
  • Work closely with vendors, and internal stakeholders, review technical specifications and documents. You will be a key point of contact for providing expert support for the high-level specification of new radio capabilities and developing key radio technology recommendations.
  • Analyse existing solutions, explore new innovations and provide recommendations to improve energy efficiency
  • Collaborate effectively and provide input for technology decisions and business case development of Radio Network.

  • The day rate, in-scope, is IR35, £538.00 per day (via a Hays approved umbrella company) or £412.00 PAYE.
  • This role provides hybrid working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Reading.
