The Consultant positions are primarily based out of Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital. Rich in local culture the Shoalhaven's many annual food, wine and arts festivals and events have become popular reasons to visit.PRIMARY PURPOSEThe Anaesthetist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the Anaesthetics Service. The Anaesthetist is responsible for the provision of specialist anaesthetic services to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients at the relevant Hospital.The Anaesthetist will ensure provision of high quality anaesthetic services to all patients within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.The Anaesthetist will proactively:* Support the development of anaesthetic services* Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice* Support and develop anaesthesia research within the department SELECTION CRITERIA1. Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).2. Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and/or equivalent specialist recognition or eligible for Fellowship within 6 months of interview.
