Job Title: School Behaviour Support Specialist Location: Oxfordshire Pay Rate: £12 - £15 per hour (depending on experience) Hours: Part-Time/Full-Time (flexible scheduling available) Start Date: November Job Description: We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and school staff to help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This role offers both part-time and full-time options, making it ideal for individuals looking for flexibility and a rewarding career path with growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and group support to students who may be struggling with behaviour management, helping them engage more effectively in their learning. Implement and follow individual behaviour plans in collaboration with teachers, SENCo, and other relevant staff. Develop strategies to manage challenging behaviours, using a range of de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement. Promote and model positive behaviour expectations, helping students develop social and emotional skills. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create a safe and structured classroom environment, contributing to an inclusive school culture. Assist students in managing transitions, routines, and other daily activities, ensuring a consistent and supportive presence. Keep detailed records of interventions and progress, reporting to relevant staff and updating behaviour plans as needed. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed on best practices for behaviour support in educational settings. Key Skills & Experience: Previous experience working with students who have behavioural challenges, either in a school setting or a similar environment. Understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students. Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive school culture. Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies. Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Counselling, or similar fields are advantageous but not essential.
