Management Accountant

The opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and experienced Management Accountant to join a fast-paced business based in Lancashire. This is a full time office based role working Mon – Thurs 8.30am – 4.30pm & Fri 8.30am – 4pm. The business has grown rapidly since its birth and now has an enviable list of customers supported by an enthusiastic and experienced management team and sector leading commercial and data management technology. We’re looking for an experienced Management Accountant to refine and develop the existing financial processes and controls in the business. Within this role you will take responsibility for producing the company’s financial reporting, ensuring the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively within all areas. Responsibilities The Management Accountant will take over from the existing incumbent and will lead all financial reporting and analysis activity. Responsibilities will include: * Work closely with Head of Finance to prepare and develop Management Reporting Pack, creating visibility for Management Team to aid in decision making. * Production of monthly management accounts, variance and trend analysis. * Responsible for Balance Sheet Reconciliations, prepared Monthly ensuring all balances are correct and differences investigated. * Production and posting of key journals including Wages, Accrued and Deferred income. * Ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly, filed, and reported * Prepare Weekly Sales Report with bride to Forecast * Provide Support to Finance Transactional Team, providing cover for annual leave. * Assist within external Year End Audit and statutory accounts. * Assist in Budgeting and Forecast process. * Improve processes/key controls to prevent errors in reporting while driving efficiencies where possible * Preparation and submission of VAT returns Skills and experience * Part or Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA) * Previous Experience in Month End Reporting * Ambitious and motivated to progress career * Advanced Excel skills * Advanced Sage 200 skills * Team Player with excellent communication skills
