Cloud Architect

Position: Cloud Architect Type of position: Contract Rate: Up to £800/day Duration: 6 month rolling contract (huge pipeline of work) Client: Investment Bank Location: London (hybrid 3 days per week in office) Your role: You'll be working on a key cloud strategic initiative to containerise and migrate heritage applications to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You'll collaborate with global IT teams across the organisation to help them on their cloud migration journey, and engineer common, reusable solutions that can be used to accelerate cloud adoption through containerization. We're looking for someone who'll be able to: Work collaboratively across the organisation Solve challenging problems in an elegant but pragmatic way Work with the engineering team to find reusable patterns to support mass adoption Write professional, clear, and comprehensive documentation Be hands-on, working with the engineering team to try out potential solutions Your team: You'll be working in the an engineering team based in London and Krakow. Our role is to provide Technology teams with oversight, support, and solutions to implement a strategic architecture on public cloud services. We help by sharing the architecture vision, working with teams on their solution design, creating code samples and documentation, and ensuring that the developer experience of migrating to cloud within our organization is easy and enticing. Your experience and skills You are: A committed self-starter, reliable, responsive, and motivated to help teams be successful An excellent communicator who can collaborate across the organization Experienced with cloud computing, preferably Azure with expertise in containers and Kubernetes A capable software engineer and architect Aware of ongoing technology trends and know how to realize their benefits Flexible about what it takes to increase the update and improve the quality of adoption Your expertise: Have knowledge and enthusiasm for Software Engineering & Architecture and at least five years' experience Have worked with cloud-native computing and understand and evangelize its value Have migrated applications from a heritage on-premise architecture to a cloud-based architecture, with a comprehension of the changes required and trade-offs involved Exposure to a range of modern architectures including data streaming, Real Time processing, distributed computing, cloud computing, reporting, visualisation, analytics, machine learning, and data warehousing Experience working in large IT organisations and technology transformation programs Able to influence decision-making indirectly; putting together reasoned, evidenced arguments, publishing and communicating clear guidance, building trusted relationships
